I did not grow up eating Indian food. I actually grew up thinking that I did not like it. Come to find out…I LOVE IT! I have spent the past several years catching up on the time lost. Traditionally a lassi is consumed before a meal of Indian food, because it coats the stomach and soothes the effects that might arise from eating spicy food. The secret ingredient is kefir. Kefir is a wonderful source of probiotics–the organisms that protect against growth of harmful bacteria and boost the immune system. Great before a delicious meal of Indian food or after a long Memorial Weekend full of eating.
- 1 10 ounce bag frozen mango
- 2 cups plain unsweetened kefir
- 2 tablespoons Happy Hemp seeds, raw
- Honey to taste
- Blend mango, kefir, Happy Hemp seeds in a blender on high until smooth and creamy.
- Add honey to taste.
