I did not grow up eating Indian food. I actually grew up thinking that I did not like it. Come to find out…I LOVE IT! I have spent the past several years catching up on the time lost. Traditionally a lassi is consumed before a meal of Indian food, because it coats the stomach and soothes the effects that might arise from eating spicy food. The secret ingredient is kefir. Kefir is a wonderful source of probiotics–the organisms that protect […]

Green bean season is here and I always seem to buy more than enough. In the past two weeks I have had greens beans every which way, from salads to steaming. What else can I come up with? I do love the taste of veggies and tend to have a healthy palette, but I am not a fan of veggies being in places they don’t belong. So I blend up my smoothies with the mindset of a milkshake. Mornings for me are crazy…. So much to do and so little time to get out the door. My breakfast must be quick, healthy and most importantly to go. This is my go to smoothie!!
Hemp milk is an amazing alternative to dairy. This nutty flavored milk is full of protein, vitamins, omegas, minerals, amino acids and essential fatty acids. I love to add mine to my oatmeal, cereal or as a great base for a smoothie.
